Setting Project Preferences

OCUS is designed to tailor your experience to your unique interests and professional goals. Setting project preferences is a simple and effective way to ensure that the projects you see — and the opportunities you receive — align with what matters most to you.

What is a project preference?

Not every project will match your interests, and that is completely normal.

Project preferences allow you to define the types of projects that interest you most, creating a personalized OCUS experience. Once saved, your preferences will apply to your future visits and help filter the projects displayed in the Browse section.

Why Set Project Preferences?

  • Streamline your search → Quickly filter and browse projects that match your selected criteria.
  • Receive tailored recommendations → Our system prioritizes projects that align with your preferences.
  • Optimize your workflow → Create multiple preferences to explore different types of opportunities while staying organized.
  • Stay flexible → Temporarily deactivate preferences that are not relevant and reactivate them at any time.

Step-by-step tutorial

Step 1: Create a New Project Preference

  1. Search for projects using the search bar. Specify a location and apply filters (for example, project type, duration, or other criteria).
  2. Click “Save this search as a preference.”
  3. Review the details and confirm to activate your new preference.

Step 2: Manage Your Preferences

  1. Go to Settings and open the Project Preferences tab.
  2. To edit a preference, adjust the search criteria as needed and save your changes.
  3. To delete or deactivate a preference, select the corresponding option. Deactivating a preference allows you to reactivate it later without losing your saved criteria.

💡 Tips for Getting the Most Out of Preferences

  • Think broadly: create multiple preferences to cover different project types or locations you are open to exploring.
  • Stay flexible: if your priorities change, deactivate preferences temporarily and reactivate them when needed.
  • Review your preferences regularly: as your goals evolve, updating your preferences ensures your OCUS experience remains aligned with your professional objectives.
