Before starting your journey with OCUS, you may have a few questions. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common ones.
Who can register with OCUS?
Anyone passionate about photography, whether professionally or as a hobby, who has built a portfolio or can demonstrate previous photography experience is welcome to apply.

Do I need experience to become an OCUS photographer?
No, previous experience is not required. You may apply as an OCUS photographer whether you have prior client experience with clients or are a photography enthusiast, as long as you can submit photography samples for evaluation, particularly in one or more of our areas of expertise, including food (gastronomy), real estate, product, portrait, video, or drone photography.
You’ll need to demonstrate a solid understanding of image composition, lighting, exposure, and proper use of photography equipment. Our focus is on delivering high-quality results and the best possible experience for our clients.
Do I need special equipment to become an OCUS photographer?
We ask our photographers to use high-quality equipment, as our primary focus is delivering excellent results to our clients. Your camera should be a DSLR or a professional-level mirrorless camera with a minimum 12-megapixel sensor.
You’ll also need:
- A wide-angle lens
- A 50mm and/or telephoto lens
- A tripod
We also recommend additional accessories such as:

A 5-in-1 reflector
A gray card
Equipment requirements may vary depending on the photoshoot and client needs. You may contact us for specific equipment recommendations.
Are there any requirements to start taking assignments?
Yes. Before you can begin accepting assignments, you must complete the following three requirements:
- Email verification
- ID verification
- Skills and portfolio submission

Ready to join our team?
Follow the steps below to register as a new photographer and get started!

Log in to next.ocus.com and select the option “Don’t have an account yet? Sign up.”
- On the registration page, enter your email address and create a password.
- Your password must contain at least 8 characters, including one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one special character.
- Make sure to select “I accept OCUS terms and conditions.” You can click this text to review the terms and conditions.
- Click “Join Our Community.”
- On the next page, select the option “Creator.”
4. Fill in all required fields (name, phone number, and language).
- Please ensure your name is spelled correctly.
- Select the correct area code for your phone number.
5. On the Billing Information page, complete all required fields with your details:
- Address
- Legal first and last name (as shown on your ID)
- Company name (if applicable)
- Tax ID
- VAT rate
- Currency
6. Click “Continue with Profile Verification.”
7. Continue with the final five onboarding steps. These will help you understand the website, set your project preferences and availability, and submit your identification and portfolio. Once completed, you’ll be ready to start working with us.
